She received her Master's degree in the northeast and worked as a professor at a state university.
Her main occupation was as a teacher. Not only did she teach swimming and downhill skiing, she also worked in both the public and private school systems.
She taught art, English, literature and history and in the final 17 years of teaching, gifted elementary, middle school and high school students.
Ann has been involved with environmental education as well as promoting local programs concerning ecological sustainability. Plus, she's written for a number of local newspapers.
Presently she is retired but enjoys gardening, kayaking and hiking with her Australian cattle dog, Pepper. She continues writing here as well as guest-authoring on a few other websites and serves as a columnist and associate editor of a local newspaper.
Ann's webmaster is Angelia Phillips. She is a genius!
A note from Ann: I hope you enjoy the articles and will send me comments. What you say inspires me to keep writing. The Earth has been a good provider to humans but I fear we are taking without regard to replenishing what is provided. Often, I write about this. Please visit often!
