Sometimes there are loose ends in my articles. The concerns about which I write are frequently answered by friends or by hearing the information on the news. Often I am enlightened in very unique ways.
For instance, my worry about the thousands of trees being cut to produce toilet paper was somewhat alleviated when a girlfriend gave me a special row of toilet paper. The name of the toilet paper is, believe or not, “Who Gives A Crap”. There are no inks or dyes in the roll of toilet paper. It is soft and 3-ply, and most importantly, produced from 100% bamboo. Bamboo is a fast growing tree which is like grass. After being cut, it grows back rapidly. Bamboo doesn’t need chemical fertilizers or irrigation. What a wonderfully sustainable method of producing toilet paper. Learn more about this product at whogivesacrap.org. Now, if the mega producers of this product will take heed, our gasping planet can begin regrowing some of the depleted forests. Trees provide clean oxygen and help clean the overabundance of carbon dioxide from the air. Thanks, Jan. In another article,Technological Era Dangers, I wondered if there was a connection with the way humans were evolving by using technology constantly throughout the day, i.e., computers, smart phones, tablets. I heard on the news last week that we are now growing “horns”. Because we have our heads in a downward position so much of the day staring at cell phones or tablets, horns are growing out of the back of our upper spine. These horns, medically speaking, are really bone spurs and are now being found in young people. These horny bone spur protrusions used to be found only in older people whose jobs necessitated keeping their heads down. How else will our bodies adapt and change (or evolve) due to technology? My imagination can go wild with this. If you discover additional information about which I write, please let me know. You do not have to go so far as to give me a roll of toilet paper but adding and clarifying information will be significant. Perhaps a new saying could be, “It takes a community and sharing to tie up loose ends!” Presently, other types of loose ends are gaining attention. My son built a creche for me when he was in high school. Jimmy asked if I could make the nativity out of clay. I did, but two of the three Wise Men were never created. These wise men are now emerging out of lumps of clay. Another loose end being tied. Sincerest thanks and gratefulness to all who have provided assistance in these various “loose ends” endeavors. It’s a great feeling. [email protected] ©Ann Rains--June 26, 2019
